This painting is of the Corn Goddess, or the Corn Mother, “Tonantzin.” She affirms life and she comes to us now with all her power and strength—surrounded by hummingbirds, and seeds of renewal and hope, and the manifestation of sweet sustaining honey. She is powerful, and I painted her now to bring strength to all the good people in the U.S. who are being persecuted as “aliens.” The Holy always teaches: We are one people, one family, sharing one planet.
