I had an epiphany while on pilgrimage in Europe. When I returned home, I felt like I was vibrating with the realization. (Read about my epiphany in the description of my painting, Seven Truths.) I couldn’t paint my realization. For months, I couldn’t even begin. Then this image flashed in my mind: Magdalene, laying in the grass, in peace, by 7 waterfalls. I feel like this painting of rest, and restoration needed to be born before the final painting could come into being.
